Frances May Windsor, known by her second name, was the third daughter and one of ten children of Edward Charles Windsor (1827-1893) and Georgina Cartwright (1839-1903). Edward was employed at the Union Bank in Launceston. The family initially lived above the bank premises but May was born in ‘Victoria Terrace’, 3 Welman Street on 13 October 1862. They remained there until after Edward’s death on 7 Dec 1893.
May married Herbert Fawkner Robertson, a clerk, on 10 October 1895, at the residence of her mother in Cimitiere Street. The Rev. Archdeacon Hales performed the ceremony. The couple had two sons, Donald Herbert, born 8 Nov 1897 and Gordon John, born 20 Jan 1903. May Robertson died aged 79 on 1 Feb 1942. She was buried at Carr Villa with her husband Herbert who had passed away on 23 Sep 1930.
