Mrs Emma Windeatt was born on 17 Jun 1832 in Putney, Surrey, England, the youngest daughter of Robert Smart Watlin (died 1867) and his wife Emma Davis (1801-1883). On 13 Jul 1854, at the age of 22, Emma married William Windeatt at St John's Church, Launceston, Tasmania. They had three children: William (1869-1870); Emma (1870-1936) and Philip (1872-1943). Emma died aged 67 in Hobart on 4 Jun 1900. See The Examiner 17 Jun 2006, p.37.
