Hubert Frank Webster was born in Launceston on 31 Oct 1872, the youngest son of Alexander Webster (1819-1907), ironmonger, and his second wife Rachel Kilpatrick Tillery Allan. By 1907 Hubert was a clerk in the Bank of Australasia in Sydney. He moved to New Zealand where he married Hilda Becher in 1916 and died in 1926 aged 53.
