Ada Watkins was born in the 1860s. She was a soprano in the Exhibition Choir in 1891-92. Ada married Stuart McQueen at Campbell Town on 3 Jun 1893. She was working as a draper's assistant at the time. Their three children were born at Stanley: Ailsa in Aug 1905 and twins Farquhar and Frances in Dec 1906. Sadly Frances died when she was five months old. In 1914 the family was living at Scottsdale where Stuart was the postmaster. By 1919 they had moved to Ulverstone where Stuart was a civil servant. Ada and her adult children were living in Howell Street, Launceston, in 1928, while Stuart remained in Ulverstone. He died on 23 Jan 1929 at the age of 64 and was buried at the Carr Villa Cemetery in Section A3 No. 157. By 1936 Ada had moved back to Jermyn Street, Ulverstone, where she lived with her salesman son Farquhar and his wife Xavier. Ada died in Launceston on 8 Jan 1953 aged 85 and was buried at Carr Villa in Section C4 No. 67.
