Arthur George Stephens, one of sixteen children of Henry Stephens and Harriet Rebecca Presnell, was born in Launceston on 20 Jul 1861. Mr AG Stephens was a bass in the Tasmanian Exhibition Choir in 1891-92. He was a watchmaker and jeweller in Charles Street, Launceston.

Arthur married Annie Aurelia Grace Evans, daughter of William and Margaret Evans of Ballarat, Victoria, at St Paul's Protestant Cathedral, Melbourne, on 23 Apr 1888.

They appear to have left Tasmania a few years after the Exhibition. Arthur George died at Blackburn, Victoria, in 1938, aged 77.
