Lucy Miriam Smith was born on 4 Oct 1869, the youngest of seven children of Charles Henry Smith (1827-1904) and his wife Miriam Dowle (c.1828-1911). Lucy did not marry and on 15 Oct 1952 she died at St Luke's Hospital, Launceston, aged 83. Her residence at the time was at 'Palmerston', Cressy, with her widowed sister Elvira Nichols. Her ashes were interred at Carr Villa in the Western Wall 53B.
