John Simpson, miner and investor, of South Mount Cameron was the eldest son of Frank Simpson. He married Alice Jane Simmons on 28 May 1884, and had three children: Olive Ruby, 1885-1934; Myrtle Mary Magnolia, 1887-1888 and Beulah Alice, 1889-1946. Myrtle drowned when she was 1 year 8 months old. Alice, Ruby and Beulah are also pictured in the Family Album. John died on 20 Sep 1932 and was buried at the Gladstone General Cemetery.
