Mrs Isabella Buchan Shields was born about 1834, a daughter of David and Susan Mowatt. She was eight years old when the family arrived in Launceston on the Royal Sovereign in 1843. Isabella Mowatt married George Shields at the York Street residence of the Presbyterian minister Rev. James Lindsay on 24 Feb 1853. They had nine children between 1853 and 1878. Four of the children are included in the Album with their parents. Isabella died on 19 Jan 1902 at 44 Brisbane Street, Launceston. She was buried at the Scotch Cemetery.
