Herbert Seaton was the representative of the British firm of Stenning & Seaton at the Tasmanian Exhibition held in Launceston in 1891-92. The firm's headquarters were at 82 Sydney Street, London, and its manufactory was at Bristol. Their display won a special first award for various sterling silver and electro-plated items such as pickle, sugar and ice tongs, and salad, asparagus and sardine servers. Some had handles of ivory, horn, stag-horn and ebony. Also on display were ink pencils. In late Jan 1892 Herbert, dressed as a brigand, took part in a costumed cricket match which was part of the Exhibition entertainment.
