Albert Farnie Scott was born in Launceston on 7 Dec 1870, the eldest son of David Scott (1837-1893) JP MHA and Margaret McLachlan who were married in 1866. He married Georgina Sophia Dunning, a draper's daughter, on 16 Oct 1906 at the Holy Trinity Church, Ulverstone. They did not have any children.
From 1900 to his retirement on 31 Dec 1944, Albert, an accountant, was the manager of the Victoria Insurance Co. He was a director of the Permanent Building Society, the Equity Trustees Association and J Boag & Son. He was a member of the Commercial Travellers' Association and foundation member of the Northern Club. He owned several racehorses with a partner. Albert was a keen footballer, a member of the Northern Tasmanian Football Association and the Northern Tasmanian Cricket Association. He also played bowls and was a member of all the northern racing clubs and a member of the TTC. Albert died on 9 Jan 1945 aged 73. He was buried at Carr Villa in the Monumental Section F1 No. 424, next to his wife who is also in the Launceston Family Album.
