Henry Stanley (Harry) Sadler was born on 11 Apr 1878, the fourth of nine children of Robert James Sadler (1846-1923) and his wife Adeline Marion Tulloch (1858-1926) who were married in Launceston in 1873. Henry attended the Launceston High School from 1890. He became a solicitor and married 19-year-old Mary Gilmour on 28 Jun 1910 at St Barnabas' Church, Somerset. They lived in Hogg Street, Wynyard, where their five children were born: Jean in 1913; Robert in 1915; Henry (Bill) in 1917 and Peter and David. Henry senior died at the Spencer Hospital on 8 Jun 1968 aged 90, and was buried at the Wynyard General Cemetery. His wife Mary had died two years earlier, in 1966, also on 8 Jun. RJ Sadler was the manager of the Almora, North Grubb, and North Stream Silver Mining Companies located in Zeehan. A block of ore from each mine was displayed at the Tasmanian Exhibition in 1891-92.
