Dorothy Potts was a daughter of Ebenezer Potts and his wife Mary Cummings from Stockton, Durham, England. Born about 1862, she had at least two brothers, Edward and John and a sister Mary. Miss Potts was a soprano in the Tasmanian Exhibition Choir in 1891-92. She also exhibitied a patchwork cushion, a woolwork cushion, a beaded tea cosy, and brackets of plush roses, wattle blossom and embroidery. Dorothy died aged 68 on 30 Oct 1930 at 'Thornaby', Deviot. She was buried at the Carr Villa Cemetery in Section B11 No. 15. Dorothy's sister Mary Coates and nephew John Coates are also pictured in the Family Album.
