Lily Euphemia Eveline Nicholson (known as Eveline) was born in June 1878 in Plumbley, Cheshire, England, the only daughter of Donald Nicholson (1834-1924) and Euphemia Scott Gibb (1840-1915). She came to Launceston as a five-year-old with her family in Feb 1884. Her father was a bank manger and her mother was principal of the Launceston Training School.
The family moved to Queenstown about 1902. Eveline was a painter. She married Henry Albert Fooks in 1917 in Victoria. Henry's sister, Louisa Augusta, was married to Evalina's brother Charles.. Eveline died on 4 Aug 1918 in the hospital at Queenstown, Tasmania, and is buried with her mother Euphemia in the Queenstown General Cemetery.
