Walter James Macmichael and Charles Clement Macmichael, were the two elder sons of John Clement Macmichael (1843-1907) and his wife Emily Elizabeth Lucas (1850-1930).
Walter was born on 5 Apr 1878 in the Fingal district of Tasmania. He married Alice Matilda Batchelor on 2 Apr 1901 at the Holy Trinity Church, Launceston. Walter and Alice had two children: Elva Alice, born on 10 Oct 1906 and Walter John, on 20 Feb 1911. At the time of his death Walter was an insurance agent. He died aged 34 at his residence, 24 Canning Street, Launceston, on 15 Aug 1912. He is buried at Carr Villa in Section B No. 99. Members of the Heart of Oak and Austral Light Lodges were invited to attend the funeral.
Charles was born on 21 Feb 1880 in the Portland district of Tasmania. He became an Anglican minister. Charles married Mary Heitland Godby on 17 Nov 1908 at St George's Church, Malvern, Victoria. Mary, born in 1883 in Victoria, was a daughter of Rev. Canon Charles John Godby and Charlotte Elizabeth Heitland. Charles and Mary had four children: Aidan Charles, born on 10 Jan 1910 at Wynyard; Elizabeth Mary, 9 Feb 1913 at Beaconsfield; William George, 19 Aug 1915 at Pontville and David Godby 1920, at Cheltenham, Victoria. Charles conducted the first Anglican service at Myalla, near Wynyard, on 13 Mar 1911 and was minister at St Mark's Anglican Church, Pontville, from 1914-1917. He died in Dandenong, Victoria, in 1949.
