Eileen Lois Law was born in Launceston on 16 Jan 1883, the eldest of five children of Frederic Law (1856-1944), a grocer and produce merchant and his wife Elizabeth Edginton. She attended Broadland House School and gained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Tasmania in 1904. She died in a private rest home in Launceston 25 Feb 1971 aged 88 years and is buried at the Carr Villa Cemetery. Her father Frederic, brother Hugh and uncle Ernest Law are also pictured in the album. See The Examiner 11 Mar 2006, p. 32.
