Jessie Allan (Dolly) Lamont was born at 'Braemar' on 13 Apr 1874, the third daughter of James Brough Lamont (1842-1916) and his wife Margaret Elizabeth Allan (1844-1916). Dolly had two older sisters, twins Margaret Jessie & Harriet Isabel. Her three younger sisters, Gertrude, Rose and Boronia, all died as children. Dolly lived at home and helped her mother with domestic duties. She was a soprano in the Exhibition Choir in 1891-92 alongside her sister Isabel, who is also pictured in the Launceston Family Album. Dolly died on 4 Dec 1904, aged 30, at 'Braemar', Invermay and was buried in the Scotch Cemetery, Launceston.
