Edith Mary Hopkins, known as Edie, was the sixth of seven children born to Emanuel Hopkins, a draper, and Agnes Johnston who were married in Launceston on 4 Jun 1862. Miss Edie Hopkins sang in the Tasmanian Exhibition Choir in 1891-92 together with her sister Maggie who is also pictured in the Family Album. Edie married Mervyn Henry, a clerk, on 17 Oct 1900 in Hobart. Their two sons were born in 1909 and 1910. Mervyn died at Sandy Bay on 2 Jun 1943 aged 68 and Edie died on 14 Jul 1951 aged 80 at New Town. They were both interred at the Cornelian Bay Cemetery.
