Ada Mary Harrap, born in Launceston on 18 Aug 1858, was the third child of Alfred Harrap and his wife Amelia Tobin. At the time of the Tasmanian Exhibition in 1891-92 her father Alfred was running a successful business of auctioneers, ship, customs, forwarding, insurance and estate agents in partnership with his son George at 82 Cameron Street, Launceston.
Ada, and her brother George, were members of 'The Muffs', an amateur dramatic club which performed plays to raise funds for charity. Ada lived at 'Egremont', Welman Street, with her brother George and sister May from the time the house was built in 1904. Ada did not marry and died on 31 Jan 1956 at the age of 97. She was buried at the Carr Villa Cemetery in Section B9 No. 10. her sisters Emilie, Grace and Mary (May) are pictured in the Family Album.
