Hilda Elizabeth Gunn was born in Launceston on 5 May 1877, a daughter of Thomas Gunn (1844-1910) and his wife Mary Morris (1846-1926). Portraits of her mother and siblings Frank, Charles, Eila and Winifred also appear in the Family Album. Hilda married James McKenzie, of the firm J McKenzie & Co., on 9 Jan 1906 at the residence of the bride's parents, 'Thurso', York Street, Launceston. They had three children: Mary, Annie and James. Their first child, Mary, was born on 18 Dec 1906 at 'Nugara', Claremont Street. Hilda died in Launceston on 25 Nov 1956 aged 79. Her husband James had died two years earlier on 6 Jul 1954.
