Mrs Emily Gaunt was born on 9 Apr 1845, the eldest daughter of Thomas Ransom JP (born McNally 1820-1904) and his wife Sarah Stanfield (c.1823-1890) of 'Killymoon' at Avoca. Nineteen-year-old Emily Ransom married Edward Gaunt on 28 Oct 1863 at the Cullenswood Church. Their 14 children were all born in Launceston between 1864 and 1890, although several died young. Eight are pictured in the Family Album. Her husband, three of her sisters, Constance Valentine and Evelyn and Alice Ransom, are also pictured in this Album. Emily died on 21 Jan 1921 in her 76th year. She was buried at Carr Villa in the Anglican Section B1 No. 200.
