Mrs Bessie Jane Frost was born on 5 Sep 1868, the second daughter of James Steer (1841-1911) and his wife Elizabeth Fanny Gould (1845-1907). She married Francis Frederick (Frank) Frost at her parents' home in Launceston on 28 Oct 1891. Their son Eric was born on 6 Nov 1892. Bessie was a schoolmistress and may have conducted a private school in Brisbane Street, Launceston. Frank and Bessie had left Launceston by 1913 and lived in Middle Park, Victoria.
