Miss Annie Duncan was a founding member of 'The Muffs', a popular amateur dramatic club which performed WS Gilbert's play 'Engaged' at the Academy of Music on 4 Dec 1891 as part of the entertainment during the Tasmanian Exhibition. She played the part of Minnie gracefully and naturally according to the review in The Examiner the following day.
