Thomas Malcolm Douglas was born on 8 Dec 1878 in Launceston, Tasmania, the sixth of seven children of Thomas Malcolm Douglas (1840-1888), a mariner and later a railway worker, and his wife Margaret Butterworth (1846-1925). He played in three Premierships with the Launceston Cricket Club: 1900, 1902 and 1903. He was also secretary of the Club from 1904 to 1906. He represented the North in 1908.
On 12 Apr 1905 Thomas married Annie Jordan Thompson, the only daughter of George Thompson, Invermay. The marriage took place at the residence of the bride's aunt Mrs Hannah Room, 'Mayfield Villa', Invermay, and was conducted by the Rev. E G Barry of the Holy Trinity Church, Launceston. Thomas was the manager of the Liverpool and London and Globe Insurance Co. and moved to Victoria about 1911. Thomas died aged 59 on 5 Nov 1938 at Camberwell, Victoria. Annie died on 25 Feb 1968, also in Victoria.
