This is possibly William Julian Dolan, born at Coalbrook on 15 Jul 1875, a son of Thomas Dolan and Bridget Cashman of Tunnack who were married at Richmond in 1857.
Although a Catholic, William married Marie Louisa Vernon on 31 Jan 1903 at the York Street Baptist Manse, Launceston. Marie's parents were William Vernon and Elizabeth Thomas. William Dolan was a salesman and on 29 Dec 1915, at 40 years of age, he joined the AIF as a private in the 43rd Battalion. He enlisted in Adelaide and served in France and England, was wounded in action and discharged and returned to Australia, medically unfit, on the ship Themistocles on 5 Nov 1917. He became a soldier settler farmer at Griffith, NSW, before moving to 42 Nairn Avenue, Ascot Vale, Victoria, where he worked as a salesman again. He died aged 76 on 18 Sep 1951. Marie died aged 80 in 1956.
