Jane Dodgshun was born on 28 Mar 1868 at Morley, Yorkshire, England, the only daughter of Joseph Dodgshun (1831-1915) and his wife Maria Buckley (1828-1916). She arrived with her family in Australia on the Durham in Sep 1874 when she was six years old. Janey did not marry. She returned to Melbourne with her family in 1899. She was confined to a wheelchair for a few years before she died aged 43 on 4 Dec 1911 at Hawthorn. She was buried at the Kew Cemetery in the family plot. Her parents and brothers Charles and Joseph are also pictured in the Family Album. See The Examiner 24 Sep 2005, p. 24.
