Annie Dent, known as Nancy, was born at Westbury on 31 Jan 1871, the second daughter of William Dent and Annie Downie Hall who married on 11 Apr 1868. Miss A Dent was a soprano in the Exhibition Choir in 1891-92. Her older sister Mary Dent is also pictured in the Family Album.

Annie married Hugh Robert Douglas Collins on 20 Nov 1901 at Launceston. Hugh was born on 19 Mar 1866 at Longford, the eldest son of John Douglas Collins and Mary Ann Cootes. Annie and Hugh had two daughters. Lorna Kathleen was born on 1 Sep 1902 at Invermay and died aged 14 years on 2 Jun 1917. Mona Lorraine was born on 6 Apr 1908 in York Street, Launceston.

Hugh died aged 52 on 8 Sep 1919 at their residence, 207 St John Street, leaving Annie a widow with an eleven year old daughter. Annie Collins died aged 91 on 27 Sep 1962 and was cremated at Carr Villa. Her daughter Mona died unmarried on 27 May 1994 aged 86.
