Fanny Singleton Dempster was born in Prahran, Victoria, in 1880. Her parents were Charles Dempster (1846-1937), a draper, and Elizabeth Jane Blackmore (1857-1940). She moved with her family to Launceston on the Flinders in Dec 1882. She married Alfred Thomas Craig in Launceston 6 Sep 1900. Alfred was a draper in Melbourne, where the three children were born.
