William Davis was employed as a machinist at the Daily Telegraph. Born about 1862, he married Grace Louisa Cox on 25 May 1891 in Launceston. The couple had five children, all born in Launceston: Albert Gordon 19 Feb 1892; Leslie Tasman, 1 Aug 1893; Ruby Grace, 23 Dec 1896; Doris Daphne Maud, 19 Jun 1900 and Frank Raymond, 10 Jan 1903. William was a Worshipful Brother of Court Sherwood No. 4845 AOF. He died at his residence aged 46 on 29 Oct 1908. Grace died over 41 years later at the age of 80, on 1 Feb 1950. She was buried with her husband at Carr Villa in the Anglican Section B 327.
