Leslie Walter Craw was born in Launceston on 12 Aug 1865, the eldest son of James Craw (1838-1878) and his wife Jane Storey (1844-1884). Leslie Craw was in partnership with Henry Ratcliff as booksellers and stationers in Brisbane Street and Charles Street, Launceston. Leslie married Catherine Stewart Laing and their son James was born on 6 Jan 1894 in Launceston. Three of his brothers, Douglas, Alfred and Russell, and sister Euphemia, are also pictured in the Family Album.
