Euphemia Jane (Effie) Craw was born in Launceston on 16 Apr 1873, the only daughter of James Craw (1838-1878) and his wife Jane Storey or Storie (1844-1884). She had six brothers. She was educated at the Methodist Ladies College and won prizes in physical geography and writing in 1887. She married Harry Herbert Burbury, a storekeeper, on 13 Apr 1892 in Launceston. Effie and Harry had six sons and one daughter from 1894 to 1911. The family moved to New South Wales by 1930, and by 1936, Effie, together with her husband and son Reginald, was a confectioner. She died on 10 Jul 1949 at her residence, 347 Military Road, Dover Heights, NSW. Her future husband Harry and four brothers are also pictured in the Family Album.
