Ida Mary Cox was born at Deloraine on 4 Jul 1867, the youngest daughter of William Cox (1831-1908) and his wife Elizabeth Jordan (1830-1912). Ida was the pianist of the Philharmonic Society in Launceston. She was a talented pianist and singer and was an alto in the Exhibition choir. She moved, well before World War I, to Melbourne where she sang and taught piano. She died 22 Oct 1953, Powlett Street, East Melbourne.
