Reine Desiree Collins was born in Launceston on 22 Apr 1882, the tenth of eleven children of George Thomas Collins (1839-1926) and his wife Ursula Flora McEachern (1843-1929). Reine was a student at the Methodist Ladies College, Elphin Road, Launceston. She won prizes each year between 1896 and 1899. On 21 Dec 1904 Reine married Cecil Denne Finch at the Holy Trinity Church in Launceston. They had two daughters who were both born in Melbourne: Desiree in 1907 and Marie in 1913. Reine died on 14 Aug 1973 in London.
