Charlotte Mary Barnard, known by her second name, was born on 17 Jun 1877, the fifth child of Downes Martin Barnard (1842-1918) and his wife Emma Jane Phipps (1841-1921). Mary married Percy Smith, son of C H Smith, at St John's Church, Launceston, on 18 Sep 1909. Their two sons were born when the family was living at 64 Mayne Street, Invermay: Geoffrey in 1912 and Edward in 1915. Mary died on 21 Apr 1968 and was buried at Carr Villa B 14 No. 25. Percy Smith and four of Mary's brothers and sisters are also pictured in this Album.
