Lilian Barclay, also known as Linna, was born in Launceston on 11 Feb 1880. She was the third of six children of James Francis Oliver Barclay (1841-1926) and his wife Sarah Elizabeth Sherwin (1844-1921). Lilian attended Broadland House School and married Harold Evershed at Launceston on 14 Jan 1915. He was the youngest son of Alfred and Sarah Evershed of George Street, Launceston. Lilian and Harold had two sons, Harold born in 1917 and Thomas Ernest (Tom) born in 1921. Tom died on 7 Jul 1941 at the age of 20 at his parents' home, 175 George Street. Lilian's husband Harold also died there, on 13 Oct 1958 aged 84. He was buried next to his son at the Carr Villa Cemetery. Lilian died on 25 Dec 1975.
