This is possibly John Stewart Whitehead who was born about 1866 in Penhurst, Kent, a son of Francis Vincent Whitehead (1840-1906), a farmer at 'Stewartston', Halls Track, Lebrina, and Mary Stewart, who died in 1905. Others in the family were Annie Rathornie and Gervase Herbert. There is a memorial plaque in the memory of Francis Whitehead in St Andrew's Church, Lebrina. He died aged 66 on 29 Jul 1906 while visiting Victoria.
John Stewart Whitehead was a bank clerk in Launceston. He died of consumption, aged 30, at Lebrina, Tasmania, on 17 Nov 1895.
