James William Southon was born in Mainpuri, Uttarpradesh, India. An accountant, he married Gertrude Isabel Hely in Launceston on 9 Aug 1897 and died on 1 Aug 1948 aged 78. Gertrude died aged 84 on 29 Apr 1957 and his son James died aged 58 on 9 Oct 1961. They were all cremated at Carr Villa and their ashes were scattered. Gertrude Hely is also pictured in the Family Album.
