This is possibly Thomas Paton who was born in Hobart on 5 Sep 1875, son of Thomas Paton, plasterer, and his wife Rebecca Speakman. Others in the family were George, born 1870; Sarah Baldwin, 1872; Margaret Craig, 1874, James Craig, 1877; Rebecca Speakman, 1879 and Arthur Craig, 1883.
His mother, Rebecca Paton, exhibited a number of items in the Tasmanian Exhibition of 1891-92
Thomas married Elizabeth Fleming in Marrickville, Sydney, NSW, on 30 Jun 1905. In later years he was described as a company director. He died in Brisbane on 6 May 1955.
