This is one of two sisters, daughters of Robert Halstead (c.1826-1873) and Eleanor Dinah Macmichael (1834-1920).
Elizabeth Dinah (Lily) Halstead, the eldest of six daughters, was born in Launceston on 16 Nov 1862. She was appointed as a clerk at the Launceston Electric Telegraph Office on 1 Oct 1885. After the family moved back to Hobart, Elizabeth worked at the General Post Office. In 1913 she bought 'Myola', 54 Molle Street, and lived there with her mother and sister Eleanor (Cissie). She died aged 66 on 18 Dec 1928.
Eleanor (Cissie) Halstead, was born on 28 Oct 1863 at Evandale and died aged 81 in Hobart in Mar 1945. She also worked at the GPO in Hobart until her retirement. Neither of the girls married.
