Kathleen Gaunt was born in Launceston on 8 Apr 1890, the youngest of 14 children of Edward Gaunt (1837-1904) and his wife Emily Ransom (1845-1921). The name of the nurse on the left in the photo is not known.

In 1914 Kathleen moved to Malvern, Victoria where she was working as a nurse. By 1919 she was living at 39 Miller Grove, Kew, with her mother Emily, brother Arthur and sister Leila. She died in 1955.
