Elizabeth Grace married Alexander Evans on 24 Feb 1879. In 1876 Alexander established the Steam Soap, Candle and Soda Crystal Works on the banks of the North Esk River. The factory was destroyed by fire in 1883 and later was rebuilt in Invermay. For some years the family lived in Government Cottage in City Park, Launceston. Their seven children were born between 1880 and 1892 but only four survived to adulthood. Three of these, Alexander, Robin and Nellie, are pictured in the Family Album, as are Elizabeth's sister Joanna Flexman, her sister-in-law Mary Anne Groom and nieces Susan and Ida Groom.
