Mrs Elizabeth Oats Cowling, formerly Wearne, was born in Penzance, Cornwall, in Mar 1857. She married John Cowling in 1881 in Victoria. Their five children were all born in Launceston: Josephine, 21 Jan 1882; Cornwall, 4 Feb 1884; Eveline, 1 Jan 1887; Bertha, 4 Feb 1889 and Cyril, 24 Nov 1894. The family later lived in Franklin Street, Maldon, Victoria. Elizabeth's husband and two eldest children are also pictured in the Family Album.
