Marion Fanny Clemons was born on 31 Jan 1870, the eldest daughter of school teacher John Nicholas Clemons and his wife Annie Tucker. In Launceston on 8 Dec 1892 Marion married Adam Turnbull Gibson, son of the Hon. James Gibson of 'Belle Vue', Epping Forest. They had three children: Gwenn Clemons, born 18 Oct 1897; Geoffrey, 9 Oct 1898 and Alex Clemons on 28 Jul 1902. The family lived at 'Lowe's Park', Tunbridge, where Adam was a pastoralist. In 1909 Marion left Tasmania with her three children and went to live in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England. See The Examiner 3 Jun 2006, p. 34.
