This is possibly Mrs Eliza Andrews who was born in Launceston on 18 Apr 1861, the eldest of 14 children of William Henry Cleaver, (1837-1919) printer, and Agnes Inall (1842-1918) of Prospect. On 9 Apr 1884, Eliza married Charles Henry Andrews, the son of John Andrews, a draper of Launceston. The wedding took place at the home of the bride's parents. Charles was a fitter and turner with the Tasmanian Government Railways.
The couple had eight children. The first three were born in Launceston: Claude, 1884; Leonard, 1886 and Stanley, 1889. The family moved to Longford where three more children were born: Myra, 1891; Bertram, 1894 and Tasma, 1897. The last two daughters were born at Prospect: Elizabeth, 1901 and Lanna, 1904.
Eliza died aged 72 on 13 Nov 1932. Her husband Charles passed away nearly three years later aged 74 on 8 Oct 1935. They are buried together at Carr Villa in Section C1 No. 174. They both died at the home of their daughter, Myra Thow.
Mrs Andrews was a soprano in the Exhibition Choir in 1891-92. Her sister Ada Burbury is also pictured in the Launceston Family Album.
